About

After training in natural sciences, I began my creative career in 2015 as a textile designer. My company, Woolly Originals produced machine knit fabric using Scottish yarns, initially pre-dyed and then plant dyed. I created more than thirty designs over a ten-year period, focussing on botanical, geological, political and personal themes. 

I decided to take an educational sabbatical in 2025 as I wanted to explore and develop other media and other methods to assist me in how I tell my stories. Running in parallel is a continued focus on my striving for a sustainable creative practice.

Based in Edinburgh, I continue to be inspired by: creating botanical and mineral pigments; local geological formations; and national current affairs.
